Why it matters

RV damage is rarely only cosmetic

Patched rather than properly repaired, RV damage comes back as soft spots and spongy flooring, delamination of exterior panels, doors and slides that no longer line up, and premature wear on the chassis and roof. The real risk is water. Once the envelope is open, moisture gets into the framing and keeps doing damage for seasons.

What we do

RV and motorcoach services

Sidewall rebuilds

Full tear-down, with framing rebuilt before any new skin goes on.

Rear cap replacement

Crushed and torn caps replaced and blended into the body.

Fiberglass and composite

Repair to the materials RVs are actually built from.

Aluminum panels

Panel repair and replacement across coach types.

60-foot paint booth

Our booth is 60 feet long with a 12-foot wide by 14-foot high door, so a full-length coach fits inside for refinishing.

Paint and color matching

Blended so the repair disappears into the original finish.

Lifetime warranty

Every repair carries a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the coach.

Decals and graphics

Restored to match the factory look.

How we work

Our three-step rebuild

What to expect, from tear-down to the coach going back on the road.

Tear-down and inspection

Before we touch a single new panel we open the damaged area up. Careful disassembly is the only way to see what is happening behind the skin. On an RV there is almost always more damage than you can see from outside.

Structural rebuild

Framing is rebuilt before any skin goes back on, so the repair carries load the way the factory intended rather than simply closing the hole.

Refinish and graphics

Paint is blended and color-matched, and decals and graphics restored to factory appearance. The finished job should look the way it did leaving the factory.

Why us

Why RV owners come to a truck shop

Heavy-duty bodywork and RV bodywork use the same skills: large panels, structural framing, and finishes that have to match across big surfaces. It is why owners of custom and specialty coaches end up here rather than at a dealer.

Owner Shaun Clinger has spent more than thirty years in collision repair. He has worked as a technician, run a shop, and spent time as an insurance adjuster. On an RV claim, where extra damage is routinely found after tear-down, knowing what an adjuster needs is what keeps the file moving.

He trained at the Southeast Community College Autobody Repair Program in Milford, Nebraska, graduating top of his class in 1993. The shop is family owned and family run.

What badly repaired RV damage turns into

Soft spots
Spongy flooring where moisture has reached the framing.
Delamination
Exterior panels separating from the structure beneath.
Misalignment
Doors, slides and windows that no longer line up.
Chassis wear
Premature wear carried by a structure no longer sharing load.
Getting it to us

Getting your coach to the shop

A damaged coach is often a long way from home when it happens. If the coach is still drivable we will come and drive it back ourselves, and if it needs towing we arrange that for you.

Where we work

The shop is on E Aurora Ave in Des Moines, just off I-80 and close to I-35. Pickup and drop-off covers Des Moines, Ankeny, Altoona, Boone and Newton, and we have collected damaged vehicles from as far as Ames.

We deal with the adjuster

We bill insurers directly and handle the back-and-forth ourselves. That matters most on RV claims, where extra damage is routinely found once the sidewall comes off. If an insurer decides a coach is a total loss rather than a repair, we will still help you work through the claim.

★★★★★

"My RV was rear ended on Interstate 80 and I had no idea where to take it in the Des Moines area. They worked diligently with my insurance company and minimized the back and forth I had to deal with."

Questions

Frequently asked

Can a heavily damaged RV sidewall really be repaired?

In most cases, yes. Even severe damage with crushed framing and an exposed interior can usually be rebuilt. Whether it makes financial sense depends on the RV, which is what an in-person estimate establishes.

Do you work on fifth wheels and travel trailers as well as motorhomes?

Yes. We work on motorhomes, travel coaches, fifth wheels and specialty recreational vehicles.

Will the repair match my existing paint and graphics?

That is the goal. We blend and color-match paint and restore decals and graphics to factory appearance.

Can you tell from photos whether my RV can be fixed?

Photos are a useful start and we are happy to look at them, but hidden damage behind the skin means a firm estimate needs the RV in the shop.

Do you work with my insurance company?

Yes. We bill insurers directly and deal with the adjuster, which matters on RV claims where extra damage is often found after tear-down.
