Prep and masking
Most of the quality of a finish is decided before any color goes on. Surfaces are prepared and masked properly, which is the slow part and the part that shows.

A commercial vehicle finish has a harder life than a car's. It sits outside, it gets washed constantly, and it carries branding that has to still look right in three years. That is why we work in Axalta Imron and OEM-matched coatings rather than whatever is quickest.
Owner Shaun Clinger trained at the Southeast Community College Autobody Repair Program in Milford, Nebraska, graduating top of his class in 1993, and has spent more than thirty years in collision repair since. The shop is family owned and family run.

Getting your vehicle to the shop
Refinishing work usually follows a collision, and a vehicle waiting on paint is a vehicle not earning. If it is drivable we will come and drive it back ourselves; if it needs towing we arrange that. Our booth is 60 feet long with a 12-foot wide by 14-foot high door, so length is rarely the problem.
Where we work
The shop is on E Aurora Ave in Des Moines, just off I-80 and close to I-35. Pickup and drop-off covers Des Moines, Ankeny, Altoona, Boone and Newton, and we have collected damaged vehicles from as far as Ames.
We deal with the adjuster
We bill insurers directly and handle the back-and-forth ourselves. Where refinishing forms part of an insured repair, we bill the insurer directly and handle the adjuster ourselves.
