Every day down is revenue you don't get back
When a truck sits, it costs you loads, delivery windows and a driver you are still paying. The rigs we turn around fastest are usually the ones that got to us early, with the claim already started.

What happens next
Here is how a repair goes once you call.
Free detailed estimate
Bring the truck in or send photos to start. We document the damage properly, because documentation is what keeps a claim moving.
We work your insurer
We bill insurers direct and deal with the adjuster, so the claim and the repair move together instead of one waiting on the other.
Repair and return
Structure first, then panels and paint. Regular updates throughout, so you always know where the truck stands.
What our customers say
"Collision Solutions repaired a Peterbilt for me and the work performed was professional and fairly priced. A year later I asked Shaun if he would tackle painting a car for me — the guys in the shop treated my car as if it was theirs."
"I was having a water leaking problem with a truck so these guys fixed it in two hours. True professionals and I would recommend this place to all the truckers out there."
"Shaun and his team provided service above and beyond what was expected and assisted us in finding the best solution for our repair. From start to finish the process was seamless and communication was timely and detailed."
Why fleets send us their trucks
Shaun Clinger has been doing this for more than thirty years. He has worked as a technician, run a shop, and spent time on the other side of the desk as an insurance adjuster.
That means we know what an adjuster needs to see, and what holds a file up. On a commercial claim, that can be the difference between getting your truck back in two weeks or six.
He trained at the Southeast Community College Autobody Repair Program in Milford, Nebraska, and graduated top of his class in 1993. The shop is family owned and family run. We work for fleets, owner-operators, construction companies, municipalities, and fire and rescue crews across Central Iowa.
How frame damage shows up on a Class 8 truck
- Diamond
- The rails shift out of square with each other.
- Mash
- Impact shortens a section of rail.
- Sway
- The frame bends left or right off centerline.
- Twist
- The rails rotate against each other.
Several can be present at once, and the worst are the hardest to see. A cab that looks straight can sit on a frame that's out of spec.
Getting your truck to the shop
When a rig goes down on the interstate, the first question is usually where it can even go. If the truck is still drivable we will come and drive it back ourselves, and if it needs towing we arrange that for you.
Where we work
The shop is on E Aurora Ave in Des Moines, just off I-80 and close to I-35. Pickup and drop-off covers Des Moines, Ankeny, Altoona, Boone and Newton, and we have collected damaged vehicles from as far as Ames. Our paint booth is 60 feet long with a 12-foot wide by 14-foot high door, so length is rarely the problem.
We deal with the adjuster
We bill insurers directly and handle the back-and-forth ourselves. Owner Shaun Clinger spent part of his thirty years in the trade working as an insurance adjuster, so we know what a claim needs and what quietly stalls one.
"We had a brand new truck get into a collision with a dump truck that resulted in pretty substantial damage in Ames. Collision Solutions came and picked it up for us, communicated extremely well with both us and our insurance, and left it sparkling upon delivery back to us!"

Frequently asked
How long does a repair take?
It depends on the damage, parts availability, and insurance approval. Minor work can be quick; major frame or structural repairs take longer. An in-person estimate is the fastest way to a realistic timeline.
Will insurance cover a commercial truck repair?
Most commercial and collision policies do. We work directly with insurers and adjusters to keep the claim, and the truck, moving.
Can you repair frame damage on a Class 8 truck?
Yes. Frame and structural repair is core heavy truck work, and it has to be done correctly for the truck to return to safe, legal operating condition.
Do you take fleets as well as single trucks?
Both. We schedule multi-unit work to keep as much of your fleet earning as possible, and a single owner-operator's truck gets the same urgency.
Do you pick up, and how far do you go?
The shop is on E Aurora Ave in Des Moines, just off I-80. Pickup and drop-off covers Des Moines, Ankeny, Altoona, Boone, Newton and beyond. We have collected damaged trucks from as far as Ames.
